The Oh-Blog-A-Tory Best Of 2009 List (v0.5)

‘Tis the moment for me to shine the light on some of my favorite releases of the year thus far. This will probably be a lot less in-depth than most other locales in the blogosphere but if you’ve been following along since the resurrection of the website – you’ll find many of the below candidates have been highlighted in daily postings or, more than likely, featured on one of the monthly mixes. It’s fairly obvious that I’ve listened to no less than 150 or so albums released this year so the easiest way for me to determine the frontrunners is by referring to my RYM rating history. Albums receiving 4 out of 5 stars or higher I would consider to be the cream of the crop while 3.5 stars garners an honorable mention. Hopefully this could serve you well in your upcoming buying/downloading adventures. Oh, and please feel free to chime in with something you think I might have missed – I’m all ears.

  1. Hey, just wanted to say its great to see The Invisible Cities on here. I dig that band.

  2. lab

TVRBVL definitely deserves to be on this list!! Brilliant. More than worth listening to. Psyched to see them here! Great list

  5. I’m impressed by your writing. Are you a professional or just very knbwledgeaole?

  6. Yeah, you’re absolutely right. Analogue cotnrol with a joystick is much better for this kind of game, rather than just tapping buttons. Although mind you, I happily play with keyboard most of the time (despite piles of Xbox 360 cotnrollers on my desk) and it’s a shame that you find it so bad that it ruins the entire rest of the game for you. You’re the first person to really complain about that.Mouse cotnrol was something I thought about, but in the end it didn’t really work, you bounce around too much and move too much. It just doesn’t create the feel that I wanted, and I much preferred the keyboard.

  7. Hi! Quick question that’s completely off topic. Do you know how to make your site mobile friendly? My site looks weird when viewing from my apple iphone. I’m trying to find a template or plugin that might be able to correct this issue. If you have any recommendations, please share. Thank you!

  8. That’s great to hear, but i doubt i’ll be seeing it in aitcon. After playing a bit more with it i couldn’t shake a feeling of awkwardness and i just realized what the problem is:The keyboard control are at best a luke-warm replacement for an analog controller. Mouse control would be an adequate replacement, but it just ain’t there, so the game’s not really fun to play.It feels like those old racing games where to curve gently you had to go tap tap tap tap tap with the digital joystick, since you couldn’t just lean it to the side a little bit.
